Cable Carts
The Trystar Primary Restoration Cart is an essential tool for utility companies, designed to expedite power restoration in the event of primary power loss. This portable solution is particularly effective in residential areas where power interruptions can significantly impact numerous customers and utility performance metrics such as SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) and CAIDI (Customer Average Interruption Duration Index). When power is lost between transformers, the Trystar Primary Restoration Cart is deployed to temporarily bridge the gap. For example, if power is lost between the second and third transformers, the cart is used to connect these points with a high-capacity cable, typically spanning up to 500 feet. The cable typically used is #2-15KV Shielded with Load Break Elbows. This temporary setup allows utility workers to repair the fault while maintaining power flow. If the distance exceeds the cable length, multiple carts can be used in tandem. In single-phase residential areas, a single conductor cable suffices, whereas three-phase industrial areas require three carts to cover phases A, B, and C. The Trystar Primary Restoration Cart thus ensures swift and efficient power restoration, minimizing downtime and enhancing service reliability.
